SOCCER

I have been playing multiple sports my whole life. But the first sport I ever learned to play, was soccer. I started playing soccer for fun when I was about 6 years old when my mom signed me up for soccer practices at my local community centre. I went every Wednesdays and it was a blast. I spent a year practicing there before my parents signed me up for a house league soccer named SC Toronto. My first year I played for Southampton, and we had one of the best teams in the league. We lost only 1 game the entire season and I was one of the top goal scorers. Once it was time to play in the playoffs, we dominated and we ended up winning the entire league. The following year I transferred teams and ended up playing for team Italy. This time, I was my team's top scorer. Our team went undefeated in the regular season, and lost one game vs Germany in the playoffs. Luckily, we fought back and ended up playing Germany in the finals, where we won 6-2 and I became a back-to-back champion. And my trophies and my jerseys (on the right) are still kept in my room to this day.

TRACK AND BASKETBALL

Once I stopped soccer, I was bored and was finding other sports to do. One of which was basketball. My friends played the sport so I figured why not?  As I practiced and got better my friends got mad because not only could I shoot, but I had a lot of endurance and speed from Soccer. I played basketball with my elementary school's 4-5th grade team but we weren't that good. I played again in grade 6 and we had a great team. Our team went undefeated in our first tournament but unfortunately in the second round our team fell apart and we were eliminated. But I have continued to practice to this day and I have drastically improved.

I joined my first track team in grade 4 and I had great opponents. I ended up coming fifth in my heat and was instantly eliminated. I continued to play other sports and games which naturally improved my speed. In Grade 6 I went for my schools track team and our team came second in our event, we did fairly way. A couple years of covid pass and here we are in 2021-2022. I joined Chaminade's track and Field team in Grade 9 and we did amazing. We competed in invitationals but that did not mean much. What mattered was the TDCAA Championship, which was a meet for all TCDSB schools. I did great in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. I got fourth in 100m hurdles and second in 300m hurdles ( I lost to first by 0.01 seconds). I also competed in the grade 9 relay but we were unfortunately eliminated during our baton pass from our third to last runner. After TDCAA Championships we advanced to the Metro Regionals, which had all schools and students from TDSB, TCDSB, and private schools in the GTA. In order to qualify to OFSAA ( A meet with all schools and students from Ontario) you had to come top 4 overall. In 100m hurdles I came fifth ( lost to fourth by 0.02 seconds) and I came third in 300m hurdles. Here I was, June 2- 4, at York University's track. I ran on the final day and came tenth in Ontario. My teammates Kahari Halstead and William Tapodi came seventh and fourth. I am proud with my result and technically William, Kahari and I are first, second, and third in Toronto, in the grade 9 300m hurdles for the 2021-22 track season.
